Cheese Farm in Chad

Last weekend, we went to visit the cheese farm located in N'Djamena, Farcha region.

The owner of the farm is a Dutch women and her Chadian husband.  A very nice couple with beautiful kids.  It was very interesting to see how well the animals are treated at her farm and how well fed they were.

Usually the animals you see in the suburbs of N'Djamena are skinny and sad looking.  I was very happy to see the good looking horses.

I'm thinking about learning to ride horses would be a neat goal to set while living here.  On the way back to the house we saw a house on fire.  Fortunately the people were very quick and responsive.  The locals on the street started helping on extingushing the fire as soon as they saw smoke from the street.  This things happen unfortunately.  C'est la vie.

Ps: One week and off to Moldova!

  1. Hi. I was browsing through 'Virtual Tourist' and stumbled across your very interesting blog. You're the first person that I have ever heard of visiting Chad. If you don't mind me asking, what are you doing there for the two years? How's the living there? What are Chadians like? I can image fairly tough at times. I look forward to following your updates in the future.
