zeama ca la mama acasa
Zeama is a traditional Moldovan soup recepie. My Mom used to prepare it weekly, “Borsh” was our other alternative. I remember I was fed up of eating soup almost every day for lunch, sometimes at dinner too, now I could cry for one bowl of delicious homemade zeama prepared by my Mama.
1 chicken breast
1 bell pepper
a handfull of home made noodles
Bring water to a boil in a pot, add salt and a bay leaf. Then add in the chicken breast let it cook for 10 minutes and add the diced potatoes and the carrots. When the potatoes are cooked add the diced bell pepper, the diced tomato and the celery. Let it cook for another 5 min. and add the noodles. Let the noodles cook for another 5 minutes and at the last minute add the lemon juice and the herbes. Turn the heat off and let the soup sit. If the soup is not bitter enough add some more lemon juice. It is best served with a green pickled pepper
